Happy May!! Here are a few items and reminders…
We are planning on sending parents Third Trimester Progress Reports through the OptionC Parent Portal by the end of next week. The Third Trimester Progress Reports will be in a narrative form using the “Comments” field per subject and/or the General Comments section.
Numerical and letter grades will not be shown on the Third Trimester Progress Report. Progress Reports will be sent to all parents regarding student achievement during the first half of the third trimester in reference to where the student is at this time with distance and digital learning.
If you would like to see how your child has been progressing thus far, you can view the Option C Parent Portal for grades. Teachers have been posting grades in Option C. Students in nursery, prekindergarten and kindergarten do not have letter grades. The teachers and I are working on how to give feedback to the students on a weekly basis. Please give us until next week. You will be updated soon.
If you are not sure of your OptionC login credentials, please email Ms. Donato and it will be sent to you. Directions on how to access the progress report on OptionC will be sent out next week with the Third Trimester Progress Report.
Our partner scholarship organization, Futures in Education, has established a Relief Fund to assist families affected by the COVID-19 health crisis in completing their 2019/20 tuition payments.
You are invited to complete this form ONLY if your family has been directly impacted by the COVID-19 health crisis, resulting in a reduction or loss of income, and you are seeking tuition relief for the 2019/2020 academic year. Funding is very limited, and it is critical that we are able to assist those most affected by this crisis. Please only apply if your family has been affected in a way that it will not be possible for you to complete this year’s tuition payments.
We will work with Futures in Education to assess the overall need and funding received to determine how we may best help our families. The application will be open from now through May 15, 2020 and may be found at www.futuresineducation.org/covid19app.
Please alert us directly if you need this assistance so we are aware of your situation. This is a requirement of the fund.
In addition, we encourage you to apply for the regular financial aid program administered by Futures in Education for the 2020-21 academic year now, by going to www.futuresineducation.org/scholarships.
Note: Returning Teddy J. Forstmann recipients should apply for regular tuition assistance for 20-21 through Children’s Scholarship Fund/Civicore. Instructions have been emailed to you.
Please contact Futures in Education at 718.965.7340 or by email: Scholarships@FuturesinEducation.org if you have any questions or need assistance.
Registration and Tuition Payments
There have been many families asking about how to pay outstanding tuition. All of our families have a FACTS account and can pay via phone with FACTS Management. Agents are available to help.
- Phone: 866-441-4637
Operators are also available to help in Spanish. Please be patient when using the telephone option as wait times are much longer than usual due to high call volume.
Ms. Donato will be available to take payments over the phone for registration using a credit card or debit card on Tuesdays only from 8:00 – 10:00 am. The building will be closed. Since visitors are not allowed in the building, please call the school at 718-277-9000.
21st Century and SONYC Programs
The PSW- 21st Century/ SONYC after-school program is organizing activities for the students as well for kids enrolled in the program. A schedule has been organized and has been sent to the students who wanted to participate. Please check in your child’s school email address (the same one used for their google classroom) for information on when and how the activities are meeting.
If you (and/or your child) are interested in signing up for the activities from 3-6pm, please email Mrs. Cano at firstname.lastname@example.org or Ycanopsw@srca.org so you can be informed of the schedule and activities.
Let us end this week in prayer…
A Prayer for Hope
Heavenly Father, I am your humble servant,
I come before you today in need of hope.
There are times when I feel helpless,
There are times when I feel weak.
I pray for hope.
I need hope for a better future.
I need hope for a better life.
I need hope for love and kindness.
Some say that the sky is at it’s darkest just before the light.
I pray that this is true, for all seems dark.
I need your light, Lord, in every way.
I pray to be filled with your light from head to toe. To bask in your glory.
To know that all is right in the world, as You have planned, and as You want
it to be.
Help me to walk in your light, and live my life in faith and glory.
In your name I pray,
